Shadow boxing, or homage to Robert Frost

Life is all of a sudden very busy.

I wanted (needed) more income, and I wanted to work so I didn't have so much time to dwell.
And now I do work...

My number of clients has doubled, and a lot of other things need attention too.

It is great, but it also really interferes with my life.
I miss being bored, and I miss time to ponder and reflect and stare at the clouds.

While still living in Germany, I used to dissolve clouds. Have you ever tried that? Staring at a cloud, willing it to
dissolve until it is gone. Lots of fun (at least for some of us :-) ).

In Namibia I am not doing that anymore, clouds are just too precious.
But I still like to stare at them (carefully).

I also feel very itchy to write, instead of making lunch, which is what I will be doing just now.
And I want to play and make little, silly, non-important things.

Today I gave in, and paying bills took a backseat to making a little homage to Robert Frost.

You just need a box, a photo, some old book pages, and a plastic animal:

the woods are lovely, dark and deep
but I've got promises to keep
and miles to go before I sleep
and miles to go before I sleep

A great start to the weekend dear friends, may it be filled with silly!

Lots of love,

  2. I second sweet. Glad that you were able to get the work, but can understand how you would miss that free time. I prefer to think of it as creative time. It's when I get my best ideas.

  3. Beautiful , Jutta! You don't know how many times I remember this little verse, it's so organic that I don't even have to "remember" it...
May I share my favorite lines for this week - from T.S. Eliot?
"I grow old, I grow old...
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled"

  4. May your weekend be filled with silly as well. Another beautiful post. I'll be sure to appreciate my moments to ponder and my moments of feeling bored as well.

  5. I expect my weekend will be full of sillies. Good for you for taking some time to make that lovely homage to one of my favourite poets. Perhaps I'll make one for another favourite poet, Jutta!

  6. Hey Jutta, if you can dissolve clouds by starring at them, you know you can do the opposite as well? Have you tried that in Namibia. It should be just as much fun and would definitely bring the rain I think?
I love the idea with the box...
