Consciously creating a beautiful life.

A new year!

A new year!

Despite everything, I am excited.

A fresh new start. No more going down the same tracks. No more self-pity.

Instead, I have opted for self-care. So far, it is working very nicely. Yoga, swimming, fruit salad, and spinach for lunch
(Eva is not impressed…).

Also, a new puppy.

My man (gotta find a different name, seeing that this one is not appropriate anymore) went out with three dogs and
came back with four.
Nobody has claimed her yet.

She is quite cute, especially when asleep. When awake she chases the chickens, and pees on the carpets.
Deja vu :-).

This is our last week of holidays. From next week Tuesday, Eva will be in school and I will be working.
So we are making the most out of these last days. Friends, sleep-overs, nighttime swims.

Fun, despite everything.

All dressed up for New Year's eve

Since  the man and I have always lived in two houses, the practicalities are easy.

The rest will get easier too. I am taking it moment by moment, trying to feel each one fully, to appreciate being alive.

Remembering that nobody can make me feel anything without my consent.
And deciding to feel good.

Surprisingly it is working, most of the time.

The garden helps. It is in a pink phase now, after a long spell of brown grass, brown leaves, brown seeds.

The cat also helps. When the new (still nameless) puppy chased her, she just re-located.
No fuss, just find a different place and snooze on.

There is so much beauty in my life!

A big hug to you.

Lots of love,

  1. A now long gone friend once told me that "anyone can pack your bags for a guilt trip, but only you can decide if you'll actually take it". Glad you're not going to ride that train. Hang in there girl this new year brings many possibilities! And what a cute new dog! Hope he stays around!

  3. Hermann Hesse said: "Jedem neuen Anfang wohnt ein Zauber inne." (There is magic in each new beginning). Somehow you seem to be able to find that magic in each moment and I admire you for that. My heart goes out to you, sending you love and comfort and magic. Hugs!

  4. My daughter has had a number of chaotic changes in the last ten years. What we've all learned is that things were always better on the other side of the chaos because within the chaos you are learning new things.

From your blog, I know you are creative, adventurous, kind, and giving. I'm looking forward to sharing this new year of change where ever it shall take you!

  5. Each picture of Eva is more beautiful than the next. The new puppy, how adorable. I am sure lucky was on her side when she found his way to your home. I love your philosophy about the changes going on in your life.

This particularly changed my perspective: Remembering that nobody can make me feel anything without my consent. And deciding to feel good.

May each day continue to get better.

  6. Glad to see you're being positive. As Baye says, there is a silver lining on the other side of the chaos: the trick is to get there, however long it takes. The dog looks great and if the cat can cope, so too will you and Eva (that's my second name, incidentally!).

All the best - thinking of you. Isobel - www.ColdhamCuddliescalling.blogspot.com

  7. Your yard looks like a magical, secret garden complete with roses, chickens and puppies! I'll hold that thought about the packed bag as I enter 2013.

  8. Your garden is lovely. I'm buried in snow, so seeing a little bit of green and flowery things was refreshing :)

  9. Spot on with this write-up, I truly think this website needs much more consideration. I’ll probably be again to read much more, thanks for that info.
